Boshko Gjurovski announced today that Macedonia will deploy a 4-3-3 formation for Monday's friendly against Cameroon.
The big revelation among the starting lineup was that Boshko Gjurovski opted against starting a classic CF. Instead, the attack will be led by four players who are more suited to play on the wings: Aleksandar Trajkovski, Agim Ibraimi, Ivan Trichkovski and Besart Abdurahimi (who will be making his debut for Macedonia). The classic CF's on the roster like Adis Jahovikj, Jovan Kostovski and Bazhe Ilijoski will all begin the match on the bench.
Macedonia's lineup against Cameroon: Pachovski, Todorovski, Grncarov, Ristevski, Popov, Spirovski, Babunski, Trajkovski, Ibraimi, Trichkovski, Abdurahimi.
Bench: Efremov, Georgievski, Cuculi, Sulejmanov, Kostovski, Jahovikj, Ilijoski, Velkoski, Manevski.
Gjurovski said he will begin in a 4-3-3 formation. He stated that maybe it's too premature to talk about formations for the future since it's still early in his tenure (plus there is a couple of new players), but his goal is to establish a consistent style of play that suits the player's abilities.
We shall see how the team plays without a classic CF in the starting lineup for the Cameroon friendly, and whether Gjurovski plans to employ that system in the future as well.
