Captain Stephane Mbia has said the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are improving despite a 3-0 loss to Nigeria on Sunday in a friendly in Brussels, Belgium.

Mbia, who was sent off in the second minute of the second half after a second booking, told AfricanFootball.com that despite the loss the team achieved the purpose for which the game was played.

"It was a very good game for us, we played a lot more as a team with good prospects,” he told AfricanFootball.com.

“The good thing about the match is the success of the team not in terms of the result, we are improving day by day as a team."

When asked about his expulsion from the game on Sunday night, the Trabzonspor midfielder simply told AfricanFootball.com: "The referees are human and sometimes they may be wrong, but I accept his decision.

“Like I said, we have a lot of positives to take from the game and I believe we will get better."
