Northern regions excluded from 2015 Cycling Tour

Cycling fans residing in the northern regions of Cameroon will not see pass the International Cycling Tour 2015 scheduled from 13 to 22 March 2015.

The security situation in this region, marked by the bloody incursions of the Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram in the Far North prompted the International Cycling Union and the Cameroonian Cycling Federation to reach an agreement that excluded the Northern regions from the race.

The entire northern regions of Cameroon have been rocked by security concerns. The Eastern Region is also another flashpoint from belligerents in the Central African crisis.

However, the 2015 Tour will eventually run in 5 regions of Cameroon. Cameroon Concord gathered at the time of writing this report that the caravan will pass through the Central, South, West, South West, Littoral and South regions.
