In a statement made public Wednesday, November 12, 2014, the Chairman of the Committee for Standardization of the Cameroon football Federation called for peace and expressed his regrets to the victims.

The Committee for Standardization of the Cameroon football Federation (Fecafoot) expressed dissatisfaction on violence recorded Friday and last Wednesday during elections at the head of the regional League of football in the Littoral.

In a statement made public this Wednesday, November 12, 2014, Professor Joseph Owona, patron of this institution condemned such violence which occurred in Douala on the occasion of the elective general assembly of the regional League.

The Law Professor reminded everyone that, "football is a sport of peace, of human solidarity and tolerance which fair play is one of the core values".

According to Joseph Owona, all contentious proceedings have been regularly exhausted following the rules of the Electoral Code of the FECAFOOT to which all parties were submitted and must exhibit tolerance towards one another even in the case of electoral dispute.

The Chairman of the Committee for Standardization called for appeasement and presented sincere regrets to the assaulted people and vandalized establishments. Some of the victims of these barbaric acts have already filed a complaint against their aggressors.
