The President of PWD of Bamenda, Pascal Abunde, has rejected wide spread rumours that PWD, a Bamenda based team will be relegated into the inferior division after one year in the elite two of the Cameroon Professional Football league.

Defending the rumours in Yaoundé recently, Pascal Abunde, said the team is waxing strong and ready to maintain it plight as far as the championship is concern.

“PWD of Bamenda will remain in division two. People should stop thinking that the club will descend to the inferior league after one year in the championship. It is true that the team has encountered a lot of problems but the executive is striving at maintaining the club status,” stated Pascal Abunde, president of PWD of Bamenda.

The president also told Lions4life that, his three year objective of taking the team to elite one is soon coming to pass.

“When I came in as the team president, I pledged that I was going to take the team to elite one and this is I will do. This is my second year at the helm of a team that was already out of the picture for 11 years. It has been a learning process and believes me; the team will play in elite one at the end of the 2017/2018 sport season,” explained Pascal Abunde.

Going further, the president reiterated that the rumours are a way of frustration to the team that is looking forward to remain in top flight in the championship.

To him, fans, well-wishers and supporters of the club should rally behind the team and deceased from supporting the team only when it wins. The team, according to Pascal Abunde needs more support when the team is in crisis as this will help to rekindle the past moments of the team.

PWD currently occupies the 15th position in the general classification table of the elite two championship.
