Sampdoria deny there are any payments pending with their former player Samuel Eto'o, who is threatening to sue the club.

The superstar striker enjoyed a brief spell with the Blucerchiati, which appears not to have ended too well.

In a recent Press conference, Eto'o asked for the club to pay him a pending claim of €400,000. Sampdoria responded with an official statement on their site.

“With regards to Samuel Eto'o's statements in Milan, alongside George Gardi and the lawyer Luca Tolentino, UC Sampdoria wish to highlight what follows,” reads the statement.

“1.) The football experience of a great footballer like Eto'o in a prestigious club like Sampdoria was a mutual source of pride.

“The relationship was resolved consensually at the end of the 2014-15 by Eto'o's decision, and the club honoured his decision precisely out of respect and esteem for the champion.

“On that occasion the paperwork resolving the relationship was signed, showing that neither party had demands on the other, and that no business is pending.

“2.) With regards to the footballer Fabrice Olinga, the club always acted in line with national and international agreements and regulations.

“The failure to sign the player depended on a variety of factors, primarily the inability to find a financial agreement, and also the fact that Olinga did not have a status as an Italian national.

“President Massimo Ferrero would like to thank Samuel Eto'o, George Gardi and Luca Tolentino, who felt the need to organise the Press conference.”
