T.J. Lang, Ndamukong Suh exchange words over Aaron Rodgers

No one can know what was going through Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's head when he stepped on the left calf and left ankle of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Suh refused to talk after the Lions' 30-20 loss to the Packers.

Suh was backing up after Rodgers had hit the ground when his right heel stepped on Rodgers' left ankle and his left heel stepped on Rodgers' already injured lower calf area. As Suh walked away, Rodgers took a swipe at him from the ground with his right arm.

"I just went by what Aaron said," guard T.J. Lang said. "I didn't see it, but Aaron was (ticked) off after the play. He got stepped on on his bad calf. I didn't see it, but obviously he says it, you have to believe him.

"I don't really know what to say."

Shortly after the play, Lang, who had to face Suh for much of the game, got into a heated discussion with him.

"I was continuing to block him and finish the play and a couple of little shoves in there from both of us," Lang said. "He had some words for me and I had some words for him. That was it.

"I'm not going to say what he said to me."

Rodgers isn't the first Packers player Suh has stepped on. He did it to center Evan Dietrich-Smith at Ford Field in 2011 and suffered a two-game suspension for it.

Rodgers also isn't the only player in the division to be stepped on by a Lions player. Center Dominic Raiola was suspended one game after he stomped on Chicago Bears defensive lineman Ego Ferguson's ankle last week.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell said he did not think Suh went after Rodgers' injured left calf.

"I didn't see it and I don't think it was intentional, either," Caldwell said.

Rodgers wouldn't say anything inflammatory about Suh's actions, but it wasn't hard to figure out how he felt about it.

"I don't know," he said. "We'll look at the film. He'll probably say it was an accident, he was getting blocked into him. That's what (referee) Walt Anderson said. But we'll see."

Suh could be in line for league punishment given his long history of fines and suspension. The Lions play at Dallas next week as a wild-card qualifier.
