Team drags FECAFOOT to court for ‘unjust’ elimination

The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has been dragged to Court for unjust disqualification of FC Bamenda during the national Interpools competition that took place in Douala recently.

Speaking at a press conference that held recently on the premises of FC Bamenda Sports Academy in Ngwatkan-Mankon, the President of the football club, Joseph Dinga, described the FECAFOOT decision after the FC Bamenda match with AS Belabo, in the favour of AS Belabo, as unjust, depriving FC Bamenda from qualifying for the Interpools and automatic qualification into Elite 2.

According to Joseph Dinga, at the end of the tournament, FC Bamenda and AS Belabo teams had six points each.

With this tie, a date was given by FECAFOOT for the replay of the match. Embarrassingly, the President said, they received information that was read over the CRTV that, instead of FC Bamenda, it is AS Belabo that qualified for Elite II and the Interpools, not FC Bamenda.

“This is gross injustice because the decision was taken behind our backs, without representation, which is not good. They will all answer to the charges leveled against them in Court.”

Dinga stated that FECAFOOT will not go scot-free in the matter. The President of FC Bamenda equally blamed what he described as the nonchalant attitude of the FECAFOOT Northwest Scribe, Christopher Kaba, for withholding information concerning issues that touch on the life of FC Bamenda.

FC Bamenda Sports Academy was created in 2006. It is one of the best football schools in the Northwest Region, popularly known for molding young Cameroonians, not only in football, but other areas of education. The modern infrastructure has been attracting young men and women to enroll into the Academy.
