A meeting organised by FENASU for the evaluation of the 2014 University Games took place in July.
According to its report, Cameroon gleaned five medals, including one gold, three silver and one bronze at the African University Games held from 11 to 18 July last in Nairobi (Kenya).
Academic authorities regarded this as one of the positive points of the University Games which took place in Douala, organized from 03 to 10 may 2014.
Indeed, the best athletes of the last edition of the academic competition represented Cameroon at the African.
This was as a result of what emerged from the meeting for the evaluation of the games in Douala, August 6-7 at the École normale supérieure in Yaoundé, a meeting organized by the National Federation of university Games (FENASU) in preparation for the 18th University Games to take place in Yaounde I next year.
The president of FENASU, the PR. Paul Henri Amvam Zollo, took the opportunity to denounce the lack of seriousness in the Organization, the bad treatment of athletes and insecurity on the sites, among other elements.
In sporting terms, if no record has been beaten, the level of competition has been appreciated by the experts. In any case, FENASU hoped to do better in the future.
