Tottenham have reignited their interest in former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o according to reports.
Spurs have opened negotiations with the former Barcelona man after he was released by Chelsea at the end of last season.
Tottenham's strikers found life difficult in the Premier League last season with Roberto Soldado struggling to settle in after his big money move from Valencia and Emmanuele Adebayor only finding form later in the campaign.
Eto'o scored 9 goals for Chelsea last season as a bit part player and over 100 goals in his five years at Barcelona meaning he would add valuable goal-scoring experience to Pochettino's squad.
The Cameroon striker, 33, is keen to continue playing at the top level and apparently would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham are still considering a number of new signings before the transfer window closes at the end of August with Morgan Schneiderlin and Mateo Musacchio also in contention for a move to White Hart Lane.
However the north Londoners have hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of French midfielder Schneiderlin as his club Southampton are refusing to let him leave following a large number of departures from the club this summer.
