Cameroon's senior women's football team coach Enow Ngachu has set his sights on qualifying for the Women's World Cup.

The coach plans to first win the 2014 TN Mobile Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women's Championship here. The top three teams at the end of the championship in Namibia will automatically qualify for the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Women's World Cup, to be hosted in Canada next year.

The Cameroonian senior national women's football team became the third foreign team to arrive for the TN Mobile CAF Women's Championship. They landed at the Hosea Kutako International Airport on Sunday.

Speaking to Nampa on Monday, Ngachu said his team is one of the best in African women's football, and they are not just here to participate.

"Our mission of being in Namibia is to compete and win the championship because in 2016, Cameroon will host this tournament, and we would love to defend it in our own country," he enthused. The coach stated that his team has been drawn in a tough group with South Africa, Algeria and Ghana, but his girls are equally good and ready to upset any team which comes their way.

"I know we are in a group of teams which have already been at the World Cup and Olympics - like Ghana and South Africa - but our team has been ready since we knew our opponents after the draw in August. Our main focus also is to be at the World Cup in Canada in 2015 for the first time, and the only way to do that is by winning all our games," Ngachu stated.

He added that he is still waiting for four of his players reach Namibia from Europe. "We travelled with 17 players from Zambia where we spent a week in training. We are still waiting for four of our foreign-based players who ply their trade in France, Sweden and Norway to come and join the team," he said.

Cameroon will play their opening match of Group B against South Africa on 12 October. The match kicks off at 17h00 at the Independence Stadium in Olympia. Entrance to all championship matches is free, and tickets are available at Computicket outlets countrywide.

The championship ends on 25 October.
