Côte d’Ivoire midfielder, Yacé Marius, said that they are approaching their 2016 African Nations Championship quarterfinal against Cameroon without fear.

Group A runners-up behind tournament’s hosts Rwanda, the Elephants reached the knockout stage of the continental competition for the first time ever.

And they are confident they can extend their African campaign when they battle the Indomitable Lions, who finished top of their Group B ahead of DR Congo, and remain undefeated in the competition.

“We went through all the feelings on our way to qualify. We first had a feeling of doubt, but we fought to get our confidence back,” Yacé told fedivoir.com.

“We are happy we made it into the second round. We play Cameroon who are a prestigious side, but I always rely on the truth of the pitch. We are confident.

“We have our qualities which are based on solidarity. Cameroon are tough opponents, but Côte d’Ivoire showed what they were capable of. We respect them, but we don’t fear them.”

The game will kick off at Huye Stadium in Butare at 18h00 CAT on Saturday 30 January.
