We will beat Falcons again- Cameroon coach boasts

After beating the 'Les Elephantes' of Cote d'Ivoire in Wednesday's semifinal to book a final ticket, where they will meet the Super Falcons, coach of the Lionesses of Cameroon, Enow Ngachu, declared that his side would beat the Nigerians the way they did two years ago.

Speaking with The Guardian shortly after the game, an elated Ngachu said his target is the AWC trophy and nothing more. "Anything short of the trophy will not be good for us because we have all it takes to beat Nigeria in the final.

"We defeated the Super Falcons two years ago in Equatorial Guinea in our third place match and we also beat them in the qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic Games, so why not now? We will beat them on Saturday. I know the Falcons have some quality players, but I don't see them stopping us in the final," Ngachu said.

The coach was full of praise for his players for stopping the stubborn Ivoirians in the semifinal and now cannot wait to start preparation for the Canada 2015 FIFA World Cup.

"We were at the last Olympic Games in London, though we could not do much, but we will commence preparation for the World Cup as quickly as possible to see that we make a good impact in Canada. I am happy we picked the ticket."

The Lionesses, who parade some of the best players in the championship, have not won the AWC since the competition began in 1998. But they won the gold medal at the last All African Games in Mozambique, after beating the Falcons in the qualifiers.
