According to a source within the Confederation of African football, the president, Issa Hayatou, received on Wednesday night at the headquarters of CAF in Yaoundé, a large official delegation from Morocco.

The announced delegation was composed of the Minister of Sports, the Minister of health and the president of the Royal Moroccan football Federation. This delegation explained to the president of the CAF and his staff, the reasons for which Morocco wishes to change the schedule of the final phase of AFCON 2015.

Originally scheduled from January 17 to February 8, 2015, the host requested that the progress of this major competition be delayed because of the Ebola fever, an epidemic that has already had 5,000 victims in several African countries.

CAF had rejected two weeks ago the request of Morocco on this subject, and tried to convince his interlocutors on his position of not being unable to carry out the original schedule of the competition. "But it will not be a deaf dialogue. I am sure that we will find a compromise so that the AFCON takes place in Morocco.

After the Wednesday meeting, the two parties will meet several times in the coming month and will disclose to the qualified teams and fans of African football, the place of the holding of the final phase of AFCON 2015.
