Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Samuel Eto'o, who is available on a free transfer this summer.
The Mirror report Eto'o is motivated to prove Jose Mourinho wrong, who not only released him but mocked him as being old, along with criticising Chelsea's striker group last season as a whole.
Eto'o scored against Arsenal last season, in the 6-0 win at The Emirates, and also bagged a hat-trick against Manchester United.
In recent days he has been linked as a free agent with signing for PSG, as well as making a switch to Turkey, Italy and even China.
The Mirror write of the 33-year-old: "There is only one club in his mind and that is Arsenal," with a desire to stay in London as much a factor as socking it to Jose Mourinho.
The Cameroon international has been linked to Arsenal on and off over the years, and could provide a useful short term back-up for Olivier Giroud, but his high wage demands are likely to be a sticking point.
Last season Eto'o scored every 145 minutes, better than Giroud's 192 minutes per Premier League goal, and netted with narrowly more of his total shots on goal.
Samuel Eto'o wants to join Arsenal this summer to prove Mourinho wrong. I wouldn't mind having him at Arsenal. #AFC

If there's any truth in this it would be a smart move, if he doesn't want 150k+ a week http://t.co/CBpyXgoiTd #Afc

I would take Eto'o at Arsenal just to wind up the Chelsea fans by saying he has jumped ship to a club that wins trophies.
