Roberto Martinez has reported that Samuel Eto‘o and Sylvain Distin will be fit for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Wolfsburg.
The pair sat out of the victory over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend due to groin and dead leg injuries respectively, but Martinez revealed that both players would be fit again in time to play the German outfit at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.
Martinez said: “Samuel Eto’o and Sylvain Distin will be back for Thursday plus the 18 players we had on Saturday, plus Tyias Browning.”
The Spaniard also gave updates on the progress of Bryan Oviedo, Arouna Kone and Tomy Hibbert as the trio battle back from their own injuries.
He continued: “Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kone will be fully fit very soon and Tony Hibbert will be back for the game a week on Tuesday (against Swansea in the Capital One Cup).
“The numbers are there, the experience is there, the legs are there and the balance is strong enough to go and face every game we have in front of us.”
