Martinez: Eto’o can play anywhere he wants!

Roberto Martinez says that when striker Samuel Eto‘o is in the form he has shown at Burnley today, he could play anywhere on the pitch.

Eto’o scored two of Everton‘s three goals in the 3-1 win at Turf Moor, but Martinez says that it’s not just his goals that make him a fantastic player and role model.

“I like Samuel and when he’s in that type of form he can play anywhere,” enthused Martinez.

“I think what he brings is a real know-how, a real experience. “Sometimes you want to develop young players, and you can give them a lot of aspects technically, tactically and physically, but there is very few people that can teach things like Samuel.

“I’m sure everyone will speak about his goals but I was so pleased with the role he had behind the ball and he set real standards today.”
