Everton boss Roberto Martinez confirmed Belgian international Kevin Mirallas is back in training and passionately spoke of the impact made by Samuel Eto'o.

Roberto Martinez was met with cheers when he confirmed Kevin Mirallas was back training with the first team, and applause when he spoke of the positive impact made by Samuel Eto'o.

Speaking at the 'An Audience with Roberto Martinez' event at the Titanic Hotel on Thursday evening, the Everton manager gave out good news to his listeners as he revealed influential midfielder Mirallas was back in training following the torn hamstring injury he picked up in the first half of the Merseyside derby in September.

The versatile 27-year-old made a strong start to the season with three goals in his first six games, but unfortunately pulled up mid-way into the first half against Liverpool.

Everton, who are now unbeaten in four, are looking to get their season back on track after a fairly underwhelming start. Comfortable wins against Aston Villa and Burnley have been followed by back-to-back draws and the frustrations still linger despite sitting 10th in the division.

Nevertheless, despite recent tribulations, Martinez saved special praise for one member of his squad - former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o.

The experienced striker has netted three Premier League goals in seven appearances and has been a positive influence according to Martinez who, according to the official Everton Twitter feed, spoke 'passionately' about his impact on the squad.

The glowing endorsement from Martinez on the 33-year-old drew applause from the crowd as they all reflected on the experience the former Barcelona striker brings to the team.

307 career goals in over 600 appearances will have surely cultured the former Chelsea man to a point where he can pass knowledge on to help many of Everton's highly-rated young players go on to become top-level footballers.
