Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca recently spoke about the team’s difficult situation with injuries, but wanted to stay calm and was sure that the injured players will return to action soon.

“The injuries are a part of football, it’s difficult to maintain a high level of performances when you play every three days. The injuries have hurt us now but they’re things that happen. It’s not easy to play five matches in 15 days, and hopefully the injured players will recover soon”, Bacca said.

Bacca is currently the only healthy striker in the Sevilla squad, but the Colombian assured that he’s used to responsibility.

“I’ve had the responsibility ever since I came here, because this is a great team. I’m not alone, there are players who can also play in my position. The important thing is that players like Kevin [Gameiro], Iago [Aspas] and [Stephane] Mbia can return soon.

“We shouldn’t panic or get paranoid, the team is doing well and fighting with the teams on top of the table. We’re in two competitions and we’ll fight for everything.”

Finally, Bacca wanted to apologize for his reaction after being substituted in the match against Getafe.

“I felt like I could have helped on the pitch, but I was angry because I knew that if I was being substituted, it was because things hadn’t gone well for me nor the team.”
