The Cameroon International could not exactly wow QPR faithfuls. It would be fair to say that Cameroonian midfielder Stephane Mbia didn't make the expected impact on the Premier League.

The versatile powerhouse arrived at QPR from Marseille as one of the several marquee arrivals in the summer of 2012, with Joey Barton going the other way as part of the deal.

He was a flop at Loftus Road, of that there is no doubt, and he did little to endear himself to fans during that period either. He was sent off for a silly altercation with Thomas Vermaelen while he also Tweeted Joey Barton asking if he wanted to swap back - which left QPR fans furious.

In the summer of 2013 he was loaned out to Spanish side Sevilla and proved a hit. He was a pivotal part of the team that won the Europa League - proving the hero in the semi-final all La Liga clash with Valencia. He even made it into the Europa League team of the tournament.

His contract at QPR was rescinded last summer and he returned to Seville on a permanent basis. He has had yet another excellent term in Spain, playing a starring role in Sevilla's run to the Europa League semi-final - scoring seven goals in 34 appearances this campaign.

Meanwhile, QPR look set to be relegated today, with a win against Manchester City needed to survive.

Now Mbia is being linked with a move to join up with a former Manchester City manager. Roberto Mancini is apparently keen on signing the player for Inter Milan.

According to a report in Spanish paper Sport both Inter and AC Milan are keen on the player - who is a free agent in the summer.

Quite a turnaround from a player QPR fans couldn't wait to be shot of just two years ago.
