Everton keeps close eye on Nicolas Nkoulou

In today's Everton transfer gossip reports suggest that Roberto Martinez is looking at a Cameroon international.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are ready for battle with Newcastle for Marseille defender Nicolas Nkoulou.

Nkoulou is a Cameroon international and was involved in this years African Cup of Nations. This season he has only played for Marseille 22 times and has suffered with a knee injury.

The 25-year-old is reported to be the long-term replacement for the departing Sylvain Distin, who is a reported target for West Ham.
