Musicians identified as copyright holders will move shortly benefit from Funds.
This operation will be a special transaction contemplated in the music sector by the Ministry of Arts and Culture (Minac). Responsibility for this mission was submitted to the Special Committee, to President Esso Essomba.
Thursday, at the headquarters of the Minac in Yaoundé, many artists came to search the lists provided by the ad hoc Committee for relief of the body of collective management of copyright and neighbouring rights. Pen and notebooks in hand, the artists noted the numbers listed after their names.
On the Bulletin Board, the marked documents mention 1159 identified beneficiaries. A date of September 2, 2014, for the distribution of funds, is also visible on the formats displayed, although officials of the allocations Committee entrust that they have three days to groom the lists to verify the omissions. According to the release, they have until 9 September next to provide supporting documents to the relief Committee for consideration.
"Thus, we left time to ensure that all those who feel they have been forgotten on these lists bring us their query. The payment will start in two or three days", it certifies.
The lists are available on the website www.artmusical.info and in the regional delegations of the Minac. Esso Essomba, at the head of the distribution, clarifies the broad outlines of the operation in an interview with Cameroon Tribune.
