The album "Make my Life a Song" has won the hearts of many gospel music lovers in the country.
Gospel music stands in Cameroon have been enriched by the coming of a new album. "Make My Life a Song" by Becky Tchonko Bissong known by her artistic name
, "Fair Warrior," has won the hearts of many gospel music lovers in the country. The album is a ten-track opus with inspiring songs such as "King of Kings", "Lord of Lords", "Jesus Gives me Love", "Praise the Lord oh My Soul", "Everytime I feel the spirit", "Jesus Loves me this I know", and other inspiring popular gospel songs that have been rewritten by the author.
According to Becky Bissong, she sings about love, peace, and sings to bring hope. "I must say the album is dedicated to transform someone's life, put a smile on someone's face but, most especially, orphans and the downtrodden," she said. A journalist by profession, Becky Bissong started singing at the age of nine. After secondary and high school education, Becky got admission into the University of Yaounde 1.
During her university days, she sang in church choirs with music mentors like Victor Epie Ngome and Peter Essoka who noticed that she had a peculiar and unique voice. She also sang in other choirs groups as the Trinity Choir and was among the founders of the Tribute Sisters choir group in the early 1990s. Thereafter, the Tribute Sisters split into two. Becky and her friends created another choir group called the "Clarinets of Cameroon".
Becky Bissong said she had a childhood dream that one day she would sing in Cameroon like other famous stars such as Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion and Bebe Manga, but to the glory of God. She said she is grateful to God because through praise, God has healed her son who was born with a down syndrome. The artist said what inspired her was the pain and suffering she went through during her childhood days. Her ambition, she said, is to quit the microphone and journalism, if she has the means, and go singing around the world bringing hope, sharing the message of peace and love, telling someone that there is no reason for despair, something can change.
