When last we checked in with Joel Embiid he was draining threes prior to a Sixers game last week like his name was Steph Curry.
Yesterday at practice Embiid showed that it's not just his offensive game that he's been working on. In fact, Embiid showed his own on the defensive end against fellow rookie Nerlens Noel.
Here's how Dime Mag described it,"That doesn’t exactly look like a guy who’s anywhere near 300 pounds. And if Embiid actually does weigh close to that ballooned amount, wow – talk about footwork!"
Embiid has already denied the 300-pound rumors and some reports have pegged him closer to 275. Either way, it's certainly encouraging to see him going up against Nerlens.
While Penn State's Tim Frazier is who Sixers fans have to look foward to tonight, Embiid's debut will come. In time, it will come. Hopefully it will be glorious.
