Weightlifting tourney holds next Sunday

The African weightlifting tournament will begin on Sunday, May 8, at the Yaounde Sports Complex.

The competition which will also serve as qualifier for the Rio Olympic Games will bring together athletes from over 17 African countries. The competition will be in both the men and women’s series. In the men’s category, there will be 92 athletes while there will be 51 women.

The Cameroon national weightlifting selection has been in camp for close to two months preparing for the event.
