The Cameroonian Government has validated the Programme for the processing of forest products (Pnatpf), with an overall budget of 13.7 billion Cfa francs.

This program, we learn, is intended to promote the creation of small units capable of turning up to 25% of wood cut in the forest districts of the country.

The Pnatpf has just added to its project, in the eastern regions and Centre, two wood clusters, kinds of industrial zones specially dedicated to the wood sector.

In addition, Cameroonian Prime Minister Philemon Yang, in presenting the Government programme before deputies December 2014, announced that public administration aims to equip themselves with at least 40% in locally made office furniture.

In Cameroon, the wood sector is characterized by massive exports of logs and sawn timber. The second transformation is marginal and the 3rd almost ' non-existent. What makes the forestry industry, claiming 45,000 jobs in the country and whose products constitute 13% of export earnings, to participate in only 6% to the GDP formation.
