2017 finance law: vehicle owners embrace new regulation

This is an innovation of the 2017 Finance Law adopted.

The specification is contained in a release made public by the Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey signed on 7th December 2016.

According to the new law that took effect from 1st January 2017, windscreen licenses shall be purchased exclusively at insurance companies.

This innovation, according to officials, shall cut down on cost and time spent acquiring these essential automobile documents.

The new law also makes it an obligation for vehicles owners to have their car insured.

However, vehicle owners who have already acquired either of the two documents in 2016 are expected to continue in the old system until their documents get expired.
