The African Development Bank in an effort to mitigate climate change met to discuss ways to offset carbon emissions from patronising transportation and electricity during its 2015 Annual Meetings held in Abidjan.
With regard to this, the Bank is contributing to the financing of a cookstove project in Cameroon run by CO2 balance, in partnership with a local NGO, ACREST.
The initiative involves leveraging carbon finance to subsidise the construction and sales of more than 3,300 efficient wood-burning stoves in the cities of Mbouda and Dschanque.
