The Bank of Central African States, BEAC, is poised to upgrade the quality of bank notes in circulation. The bank has launched tenders to select competent bodies for the provision of state-of-the-art equipment for the processing of bank notes. The invitation to the international tender, signed on May 16, 2016, seeks to acquire facilities and equipment in two lots.

The first lot is expected to provide the bank with 600 rolls of synthetic branded strips, while the second is expected to furnish the financial institution with some 54 banknote strapping machines to secure cash banknotes.

The bank note strapping machines are meant for security-related services and cash security management transactions; while the synthetic branded strips are intended to offer good resistance to handling.

Business persons willing to participate in the bid are expected to withdraw tender files on the 15th floor of the bank’s headoffice in Elig Essono, Yaounde, against a deposit of 100,000 FCCA. The opening of bids takes place on July 1, 2016.
