The Interim General Manager of PAMOL PLC, Chief Mekanya Okon Charles, has revealed that the company would in 2016, open another plantation in Isangele at the Bakassi Peninsular. With this, the PAMOL company stand to own two plantations in the Bakassi area, one in Mussongeseli and Isangele.

This according to him would bring more development in the area, hence achieving the government’s plan to develop the Bakassi area. Chief Mekanya was speaking during a meeting that took place recently at PAMOL’s head office in Lobe, Ndian Division.

The First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Ndia, Bissa Fabrice chaired the ceremony. Chief Okong said the 2015 financial year was challenging for the company in terms of the oil crisis that has continued to rock the company. The low price of palm oil in the world market has seriously affected the company’s resources.

He also noted that, if the company were to be allowed to markets its own produce directly, through its own channels and means, the profit margin of the company would increase.

The company’s production this year, has increased more than ever before. The company is ready and willing to give out materials and technical services for free, and to whosoever wishes to operate a small holder scheme at the Ekondo Nene plantations area, but on the condition that they would sell their produce to PAMOL.

This move according to the IGM is to ensure that the new mill with powerful 30 MTH capacity does not run short of palm fruits to process. The ASDO for Ndian appreciated the management of PAMOL and noted with satisfaction, the achievements of the company despite difficulties.

Adding that the company’s output has increased as compared to previous years and the company’s successful extension of the plantation to the Bakassi peninsular, the grading of some roads in the division, the giant oil mill project that will provide jobs to thousands of youths in the division.

The 2016 budget of the company stands at FCFA 21billion.
