After several weeks of negotiations, the Cameroonian beer companies have obtained from the Government, a Revalorization of the prices of alcoholic beverages.

This rise in prices is due to the reform of excise duty tax on luxuries (beverages, cigarettes...), which has more than doubled in the law of finance 2015 of Cameroon.

Today, bar managers go up to the niche. Not happy with the increase of 75 CFA francs excluding tax on the price of the beer bottle of 65 Cl and 37 FCfa for HT on one of the 33 Cl bottle, they require brewing industries a Revalorization of the rebates which are generally paid to them, which is 50 Cfa francs per crate.

Indeed, according to the national Union of drinking establishments in Cameroon (Synedeboc), a complaint in this respect has just been addressed to the Government, so "that they asks the beer companies to increase dividends of 50 FCfa per crate," noted Hervé Nana, an official of the Synedeboc. The Union, we learn, has given itself end of the month of February 2015 so that this requirement is satisfied.

Otherwise, indicated the Synedeboc, beverage sellers will proceed to a new appreciation of the price of beer, to the tune of 50 FCfa this time.

Clearly, within one month, the price of beer on Cameroonian territory could increase 125 FCfa HT for large bottles, and 87 FCfa HT for 33 Cl bottles. However, the threat of beverage managers to again increase the price of the beer bottle could not thrive.

Cameroon in pricing regulation prescribed in fact that it is the beer companies that indicate to the distributors the public prices of beverages, which prices must first be validated by the Ministry in charge of trade.
