Bolloré Africa Logistics and SDV, both subsidiaries of the french Bollore group companies has just announced the launch of a fast delivery service between Europe and Africa; the launch was dubbed 'Speed to Africa'. This logistics service is available in all countries of Europe and allows the reduction of time to more than 20 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, according to a statement released by the two companies.

"This is to meet the growing demand for urgent shipments to Africa and offer a faster and safer supply chain", adds the same press release. This end-to-end service, dedicated especially to urgent shipments, works 24 hours a day with a dedicated telephone number and a confirmation in time for the client to organise his transportation plan”.

From the operational point of view, SDV assumes the processing of shipments in Europe. The two teams will ensure the monitoring of the loading of the goods on the first flight departing for Africa, while the customs formalities are carried out upstream. 'Regular alerts shall inform the customer of the status of his shipment until confirmation of receipt', this specifies the two subsidiaries of the Bolloré group.

In Africa, Bolloré Africa Logistics teams takes charge of the packages, and ensures the administrative and customs formalities and delivery to the final customer. According to the Bolloré group, 'Speed to Africa' could allow manufacturers "to reduce their capital costs, to control the rotation of their parts and to optimize the management of their stock.
