Oil and gas explorer Bowleven has been awarded a one-year extension to an onshore exploration licence in Cameroon.
The Edinburgh-based firm, led by chief executive Kevin Hart, said the move comes as the Africa-focused company awaits the final award of an exploitation authorisation for its Bomono permit, which could supply up to six million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
Aim-quoted Bowleven said: “The interim extension award ensures that the group’s interest in the acreage is maintained while dialogue is ongoing with the Cameroon authorities on the Bomono exploitation authorisation application.”
The firm owns 100 per cent of the Bomono permit, which covers more than 2,300 square kilometres.
