CAMTEL suspends the CRTV phone for unpaid bills

For one week, the Cameroon Radio and Television ( CRTV), the national television no longer has access to the fixed telephony network , cheaper relative to other Cameroon Telecommunications ( Camtel ), the incumbent telecommunications operator .

An unpaid bill of several million FCFA is the cause of the interruption of telephone service and Internet . Consequences of this situation as noted by regional television stations and national radio have been the trouble to participate in national programs.

At the beginning of this crisis, some video and audio clips , contributions from regional stations to television programs and national radio , were shipped by freight to Yaounde . Then CRTV would eventually negotiated a telecommunications operator for telephone lines are already installed at least the general direction , as in the regional stations.

Side CAMTEL , explains that CRTV is insolvent for three months. Several moratoriums on his bill, was first served to avoid disturbing its operation. But for the inability of the CRTV to settle its telecommunications costs , the general direction of the CAMTEL was to cut their lines until all the money is paid.
