CMR-Saudi Arabia: Greater economic cooperation ahead

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking forward to new openings in bilateral cooperation with Cameroon, specifically in the economic, trade and investment sectors.

The Saudi Ambassador to Cameroon, Mohammed Bin Suliman Almusher made the declaration in Yaounde, Tuesday, September 23, as he chaired the ceremony marking the celebration of the country’s 84th reunification anniversary which is equally the National Day.

Present at the anniversary celebration were some Cameroon cabinet ministers, among whom were the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary and Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum, as well as heads of diplomatic missions in Yaounde.

Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Mohammed Bin Suliman Almusher said, has been contributing to the development of Cameroon by financing economic and social development projects, particularly in energy, transport, training, agriculture and infrastructure.

In the education sector, the Ambassador said tens of Cameroonian students are admitted in the Saudi Arabian universities every year to pursue studies in diverse fields. He disclosed that the building of the Saudi Arabian Embassy complex comprising the chancellery, ambassador’s residence and staff quarters will soon start in Yaounde.

Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Suliman Almusher stated is committed to continue contributing to world peace and security. It was for this reason that he reaffirmed the country’s determination to fight to eliminate the upsurge of terrorism in the world. He therefore, called for general mobilization and greater solidarity by the international community to tackle the spreading terrorism phenomenon.

Celebrations marking the Saudi National Day, the Ambassador said also coincided with the travel of millions of pilgrims the world over to Holy sites in the country. He said the Saudi authorities have taken all measures to ensure that the pilgrimage takes place in security and calm till the pilgrims return to their respective countries.
