According to the expert in aeronautics and SDF MP, the national airline of Cameroon which is struggling to take off must be close.
Camair-Co, the only Cameroonian airline, serving as flagship of the country in the airline industry, is struggling to take off. While time is in its restructuring, many politicians believe that the company should stop being “money consumer.” Among them was the MP of the Social Democratic Front in the National Assembly, Joshua Osih.
Asked by the newspaper Le Jour about Camair-Co published in its edition of 20 April 2016, Osih Joshua said, “it must be closed! What do you want me to say ! I have so much to say about and I do not want us to feel that I have a problem with Camair-Co. I have nothing to complain about. “
The newspaper said that about the purchase of two MA60 aircraft from China where Beijing had arranged for the same price, a third plane, the Social Democratic Front (SDF) already demanded a parliamentary inquiry request suspecting payment of retro-commissions. “So far, investigations have not yet succeeded, and we continue to question the final destination of more than 20 billion CFA francs difference from operations,” says Le Jour.
Experts have estimated that the Government will not take the risk to explain the procedures sometimes dubious, and methods of the Chinese cooperation and financing facilities granted in particular for infrastructure construction. “Cameroon does not want to make noise on the matter so as to avoid being placed on the blacklist of Exim Bank,” concluded Joshua Osih, also an aviation consultant.
