The Minister of Transport, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o and the Potugese bus construction company, Trans Africa Imaos Mota have signed a partnership instituting new mass urban transport buses in the country.
According to the partnership signed this 30th August 2016, the first contigent of buses will arrive Cameroon by 31st October 2016.
The Portugese company will provide 150 buses which will be operational at 13 bus stations in Yaounde before going to other parts of the country.
The transport fare as indicated by Minister Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o will stand at 200 CFAF with Government subventioning 100 CFAF.
Ahead of the Female Africa Cup of Nations to take place in November 2016, Limbe will host five of the buses to aid in transportation during the competition.
The agreement worth 17 billion CFAF is a stitch in time following difficulties many Cameroonians especially those in urban areas face in moving from one place to another.
The Ministers of Sports and Physical Education, External Relations and Basic Education, alongside the Government Delegates of Yaounde and Limbe were present to witness the signing of the convention at the Ministry of Transport in Yaounde.
