The General Inspector of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Cameroon, Koa Jacqueline, highlighted last Thursday, in Luanda, her country's policies for the development of the coffee sector.

Koa Jacqueline was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the closing session of the 55th Annual General Meeting of the Inter-Africa Coffee Organisation (IACO), held from November 24 to 26 .

According to Koa Jacqueline, one of her country's challenges is to improve the living conditions of coffee growers, as well as build coffee plants with a view to marketing the product and promoting local consumption.

In terms of diversification, she said, Cameroon has been co-operating with northern African countries, namely Morocco, Tunisia, and Nigeria.

The event, held under the theme "Gender and youth in the African coffee industry", discussed aspects such as the adaptation to climate change and the role of the public and private sectors, the proposal of the African Coffee Development Fund, among others.
