Cameroon’s national carrier (CAMAIR-CO) and U.S. consulting firm Boeing on Tuesday penned a technical partnership agreement, corroborating sources have told APA. Under this agreement, the U.S. firm will conduct an audit of the company, the findings of which will impact on its restructuring plan.

It’s at the end of the audit that we will know more about CAMAIR-CO’s stimulus package with the mobilization of more than 25 billion CFA francs through a loan from a group of banks led by Ecobank.

With a debt of more than 30 billion CFA francs, the national air transport company is going through a difficult period, especially as the small fleet consisting of four aircraft cannot really meet the requirements of the business plan.

A few days ago, the Directorate General of CAMAIR-CO announced that four aircraft would be added to the fleet as early as January 2016.
