Camrail, the concessionaire of the Cameroonian railway, increased the salaries of its employees by 4% since January 2016, and announces a new increase of 2% in 2017, we learned in an official communiqué made public on May 6, 2016.

This was during the signing ceremony of work contracts for about 60 pre-employment interns and other temporary workers, who are now part of the workforce of this railroad company.

Before signing these work contracts, the national rail carrier stressed, “Camrail assured the new recruits of the Equipment Service of trainings in technical handling and introduction to the specificities of rail equipment”.

All of which confirms, according to the company, “the gradual implementation of a proactive human resources policy by the executive management of Camrail, which contributes to ensuring the sustainability of the railway crafts” in Cameroon.

As a reminder, Camrail, who has about 2,100 employees, claims a continuous improvement in its salary policy has helped in moving the average monthly salary of an agent from FCfa 245,000 in 1997-1998 (ex-Régifercam) to FCfa 400,000 (Camrail) in 2014.
