Canyon Resources join Cameroon bauxite project

Canyon Resources (ASX: CAY) has moved a drill rig to its bauxite project in Cameroon as follow up on promise from earlier drilling that saw grades of bauxite encountering as high as 50% Al2O3 and low silica.

The drilling will test 15 newly defined targets over the Mandoum and Birsok permits before the onset of the wet season with up to 3,000 metres of aircore drilling.

The Birsok Bauxite Project is located in an emerging bauxite region in Cameroon, which meets with world class Minim Martap bauxite deposit approximately 10 kilometres from an operating rail line and a route from Ngaoundal to Douala Port.

Canyon will soon define a sufficient resource to support the development of bauxite mining operation.
