Chanas Assurances which was during the last two decades the Cameroon insurance industry leader, recently found a new president of Board of Directors in the person of Théodore Edjangué, the current President of the Committee on financial markets (CMF) of Cameroon, the regulator of the Douala Stock Exchange (DSX), the National Securities Exchange.

He replaced the French Jacqueline Casalegno, 90 years old who was at the head of this company for half a century.

The new leader convened an ordinary general meeting of shareholders for December 30, 2014, in Douala and the main points are the approval of the balance sheet and accounts of the 2013 fiscal year.

Chanas Assurances has for some years witnessed turmoil among shareholders, in this case, the former President of the Council holder of more than 30 percent of shares, in the national company of hydrocarbons (SNH), second large shareholder.

A situation which has led the company to lose ground, the turnover falling by 23 billion CFA francs in 2012 to 20 billion CFA francs in 2013.
