China and Cameroon reviews economic relations

The Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey has received in audience the new Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Wei Wenhua.

The meeting took place this Monday 13th April 2015 in Yaounde.

Facing the media after the discussions, the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon said it was an opportunity for him to review the prospect of scaling up the FCFA 1860 billion (3 billion US dollars) disbursed by his home government last year to fund some 21 development projects in Cameroon.

The diplomat also said they both explored avenues in the technical and technological domains that will help transfer technology from China to Cameroon.

His Excellency Wei Wenhua further said he pledged to explore more opportunities in Cameroon to improve energy, transport and infrastructure in the country.

The Minister on his part said government will continue to strengthen the friendship and economic cooperation with China.

Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey added that the meeting was a platform to review friendship in the political, economic and social domains.
