Cmr, Côte d'Ivoire record huge trade growth in 2013

Up to 31 December 2013, trade between Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire has reached 155.3 billion CFA francs, against 11 billion CFA francs in 2011, and 33 billion CFA francs in 31 December 2012.

This was revealed by Adama Dosso, the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire in Cameroon during a farewell visit to the Director-General of Investment Promotion Agency (API).

For 2 years, economic cooperation between the two took a boost with the reactivation of the Joint Committee between the two countries after 33 years of hibernation in March 2014.

During a meeting held in Abidjan, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire have also signed 10 economic cooperation agreements. In October 2013 in Douala, Côte d'Ivoire held the second edition of the "Ivorian week in Cameroon" which had 50 exhibitors taking part.

In February 2014, it was the Interpatronal Group of Cameroon (GICAM), which requested the Ivorian government to provide 10 hectares of land for the installation of Cameroonian companies.

It was at the occasion of the "Invest in Côte d'Ivoire" forum, that Ivorian and Cameroonian “Patronats” agreed to promote the creation of joint ventures, to go together to conquer the public procurement of West Africa and Central Africa.
