Cmr'nian SMEs contracted to build Douala arterial road

On the global envelope of 51 billion Cfa francs for the construction of the road network West of the city of Douala to harness the transport system between the economic capital and parts of the West and Southwest, 14 billion Cfa francs will be allocated to the Cameroonian SME for a sub-contract.

During a visit by the Minister of public works, Patrice Amba Salla, November 13, 2014 to the Douala sites, the construction of the West, Sogea Satom penetrating market contracting company announced the commencement of consultations with local SMEs likely to make outsourcing on this project to win 22% of its overall budget.

According to Minister Amba Salla, this allocation of a part of the budget to Cameroonian SMEs project is a requirement of the Government. Indeed, in its policy of local SME development, the State requires successful business tenderers for contracts for projects, subcontracts to make up to at least 30% of the benefits to local businesses usually not well equipped to win contracts against multinationals in scope.
