Private businesses, public and parastatal companies were updated on best ways to improve performance and competitiveness without having to use more human resources. They were told choosing cheaper and efficient softwares with modern information technology gadgets as well as the more critical management is to enable a cost-effective, dynamic infrastructure and a secure environment.

A team of IT experts composed of Microsoft staff in Africa and other developing countries, introduced them to what choice of softwares to make and for what advantages. Considering that part of the goal of a security plan for every company or business is to institute a process that makes it the least vulnerable of peer companies or businesses in order to push criminals away. The strategy often goes to the core of why some firms remain untouched and other firms get hit by hackers and competitors.

Simon Ouattara of Microsoft West and Central Africa advised that for companies that hire a lot of consultants, contractors, and other temporary workers, and need to give those personnel access to a corporate desktop image and apps without granting full server permissions, Windows To Go provides a way. Users can boot a preconfigured, IT-certified Windows 8 image onto any laptop from a USB drive.

Presenting Windows 8 to an eager audience at Akwa Palace, Marc Israel said the version is designed for touch screens and the tablet form factor. It brings significant advantages to those who are upgrading existing PCs or purchasing new ones. The Operating System offers improvements in performance, existing capabilities, and is cheaper. Comparing Windows 8 performance with that of Windows 7 on the same computer, Windows 8 starts up more than twice as fast as Windows 7 and gives PC users a whole new world of full-screen, touch-friendly, web-connected apps to explore, as well as other advantages.
