Douala to host PMExchange forum in November

The third edition of PMExchange, an international forum organised by one of Cameroon’s employers’ unions “Entreprises du Cameroun (ECAM)” will be held in Douala, Littoral Region from November 25-27, 2015.

The information was revealed to the press on October 21, 2015 in Yaounde at an event that gathered promoters of Small and Medium-size Entreprises. This year’s forum will focus on SME’s as the nucleus for employment and innovation.

The Director General of ECAM, Lucien Ntamag Mahop, said PMExchange will be bringing together business persons, investors, government and institutions to promote the Smalla nd medium-size Entreprise sector while enhancing the country’s business climate. He stressed that the idea was not to assemble entreprises to distribute fliers but, on the contrary, to show their know-how through on-the-spot demonstrations.

The forum that generally takes place after every two years will have at this year’s edition, a “Guest Country”, as part of innovations. Morocco has accepted to bring in their innovation that is catapulting its economy to emergence for Cameroonian entreprises to tap from its rich experience. 50 Moroccan entreprises are expected to be part of the December rendez-vous.

“We also selected the country due to the business opportunities it offers Cameroon’s banking and insurance sectors. An innovation stand will also see light of day at this year’s PMExchange with project carreers who lack funding expected to compete to win the heart of sponsors."

Some 25 projects will be shortlisted after which three will be selected to benefit from follow-up and funding by ECAM’s main sponsors. For special layout and visibility, the site of the forum has move from the Bonanjo Party House to the Sawa hotel.
