Feicom releases FCFA 11.7 bn for 60 Cameroon Communes

Special equipment and inter-communal intervention Fund (Feicom) has granted funds for a total of 11.7 billion Cfa francs to 60 municipalities requesting appropriations.

These funds have been granted during the 29th session of the financial commitments of Feicom, noted a statement made public 16 February by the Cameroonian Bank of Commons headed by Philippe Camille Akoa.

This envelope, we learn, will be used to finance 64 projects initiated by common beneficiaries. According to the distribution grid published, West (20%) and Central (17%) regions account for 37% of this envelope. Then there are the far North, with 12% of the funds allocated by the Feicom, the South and Southwest, with each 9%. The eastern region has 8% of the envelope, against 7% for each of the regions of North, Northwest and Adamawa, compared to 4% for the Littoral region.

These local investments are concentrated on infrastructure road, school and municipal; drinking water and solar energy projects; rural electrification.

Through these tools, Feicom intends to strengthen its interventions in the areas that directly affect improvement of the daily life of the population. It is also to promote the creation of jobs for young people.
