France, Japan control 70 percent of Cameroon car market

The Cameroonian car market is mainly controlled by the French and Japanese car-makers who sold 3,005 brand new vehicles in the country between January and September 2014, official sources confirmed.

According to car dealers, Cameroon motors industries (Cami) Toyota and Tractafric control the market with over 70 percent of the market share.

With some 1,427 cars sold within the period Cami Toyota tops the list of new car sold followed by Tractafric Motors which sold 697 new vehicles.

The other distributors including Tiger Motors, Mitcam and Sacam share the remaining 18 percent of the market shares.
