Gov't sets aside 40b Cfa f to develop Bertoua, Garoua and Bafoussam

This investment is the result of an agreement signed between the Government of Cameroon and the French Development Agency Tuesday, November 24, 2014 in Yaoundé.

An agreement has been signed between the Cameroonian Government and the French Development Agency (AFD) which aims to provide 40 billion Cfa francs to help urban improvements in Bafoussam, Garoua and Bertoua.

The conventions were signed shortly before the opening of the joint review of the performance of the partnership for the development of Cameroon, a meeting which was the point of the various projects that the Government is conducting with partners in Cameroon.

This grant goes under the funding of the C2D (contract debt development) referred to as urban project "capital." The documents were signed by the Minister of economy and planning, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, the Director of the French Development Agency and the Ambassador of France in Cameroon. The programme 'Regional capital' aims to contribute to the economic development of Cameroonian cities.

At the meeting in Yaoundé, experts, development partners deliberated on ways to assess the mechanisms of consumption of public aid to development. The actors were called to better organize their interventions for the effective implementation of the Strategy Document for growth and employment.

It was to identify problems and propose solutions appropriate in the context of this partnership. The work took place in the form of exchanges organized by economic sectors in the presence of several members of the Government.
